How To Get Rid Of Acne
1. Ice It Down
Apply an ice cube to inflamed blemishes to help reduce redness, swelling, and pain. This is also a cool fix for those blemishes you can't yet see, but can feel as a sore lump under the skin.
2. Apply an Acne Spot Treatment
Spot treatment is an effective way to get rid of stubborn pimples. Sometimes these treatments work over night. Ingredients to look out for: Benzoyl peroxide to kill acne-causing bacteria, salicylic acid to help exfoliate and unclog pores, and retinoids to help control cell turnover. At skin Artistry we us Blemish Spot Treatment (available for purchase on our website).
5. Cleanse twice a day
Using professional skincare cleanser (not drug store cleanser) can prevent acne rather than trying to do damage control once you have a full-blown breakout. Granted, breakouts are mostly outside of your control, but getting a really good cleanser can keep your skin in shape so that you can live your best life. It's important to cleanse twice a day. During our facial we use our Raspberry Refining Cleanser.
5. Do NOT touch your face!
I repeat DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE! If you need the acne gone, like, right now, you may be tempted to pop it — but you could end up with an oozy red mess now and scarring later. Picking at it could make your pimple take longer to heal.
6. Use HIGH FREQUENCY!
High frequency is our best friend. When a client comes in with acne problems we add high frequency to their service. High frequency helps prevent stubborn acne, shrink enlarged pores, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, decongest puffy eyes, fade dark eye circles, rejuvenate the condition of the scalp and nourish hair follicles for healthier hair. Book an appointment at Skin Artistry for a facial and add high frequency for only $25. We're currently running 25% off promo using code: ACNE25
